A cliche, but I thought it's nice: the High Tatras behind the train station.

Out programme was a ride with the heritage train of the High Tatra tram. On the picture: powered car number 22, built by Ganz in 1913. The trailer behind it was also built by Ganz.

There's also a cog-wheel railway running up to here from Strba, but we haven't seen its vehicles.

The heritage tram zig-zags downwards to avoid steep gradients.

On the way back to Poprad: the stop at Nova Lesna. This is where we always stayed during our visits.

What a nice place!

The rest of the day was spent heading back to Hungary on our "soap on steel wheels".

Our last stop was at Zvolen, a city with a historical castle (the the left behind the masts) once belonging to the family of a famous hungarian poet.

The faithful "Árpád" arrived to Budapest in the late evening - quite a long trip for an almost 70-years-old railcar! The ride was a bit tiring, but we visite some very nice places!
