It was still our fifth day, and we were on our way to Kassel. The journey wasn't exactly comfortable: there were no vacant seats on the ICE train, so we alighted in Frankfurt am Main, and took a train to Fulda, and then took another one to our destination.
The square in front of the Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe railway station seemed desolate at first sight, but then a bunch of trams arrived...
... for example this DUEWAG NGT6C...
... and this DUEWAG N8C, manufactured around 1981.
Another type, a DWA/Bombardier 8NGTW under the big canopy in front of the station.
Another DUEWAG car coming from the inner city, note the nice slope towards the inner city!
Trams queueing in the main pedestrian mall of the city. There was some kind of detour/shortening going on, but this queueing is normal, so passengers of the diverse services can change.
Am Stern, a place with a "Grand Union" in the middle.
More queuing trams. Boy, were we tired by this time, we had a bit of buffet supper, and then headed for our harbor!
(No cheap jokes with the sixth day, please!)
A Bombardier low-floor car in Friedrich Ebert Strasse near the Annastrasse tram stop.
The same car from behind.
And another one, owned by RBK, the RegioBahn Kassel.
After a bit of tramming around, we got to Königsstrasse, the pedestrian mall we saw yesterday.
It was saturday and very early too, despite, we saw quite a few trams!
And they were queueing up again! Please if you know, tell me if this is the local way of harmonising schedules!
Before going out to the railway station, we've travelled with route 1 straight to its outer terminus at Wilhelmshöhe. This turning loop is located in a forest, and is probably a nice photo-object, but I guess we were there too early, so everything was a bit dim. Too bad!
And then there we were on a train again!
