An experimental machine, not many of them has been produced (two, as far as I know; one of them is still working). It's a VAX-clone, implemented using bit-slice technique. The processor's performance is equal to that of the VAX-11/730, but the system has multiprocessing capabilities: up to four processors can be incorporated into a 11/560 system. The two machines I know of have been purchased by the soviet military, I think the possible reason for cancelling the development could be the availability of DEC's MicroVAX line. I hope I can find out more about this fascinating computer!
